Hanging
Two pre-installed sawtooth hangers — one on the long edge, one on the short edge — let you hang the frame in portrait or landscape with a single nail or picture hook. Secure fasteners hold without putting pressure on the certificate.
- Use a #6 or #8 picture-hanging nail or screw.
- Center of frame typically sits ~57" from the floor.
- For drywall without a stud, a small wall anchor is plenty.

What size diploma fits?+
The Smart & Proud frame is built for a single 8.5" × 11" certificate displayed with the included navy and gold mat. That's the size we recommend and stand behind.
What are the outer dimensions?+
13⅛" × 16⅛" outside, with a mat opening of 8" × 10⅜" so the mat covers the edge of an 8.5 × 11 document cleanly.
Can I hang it both vertically and horizontally?+
Yes. There are two pre-installed sawtooth hangers — one on the long edge and one on the short edge — so you can switch orientation without adding hardware.
Is the glass real glass?+
Yes. We use tempered glass, not acrylic. It stays optically clear and doesn't yellow or scratch the way acrylic does.
How should I clean it?+
Dust the wood with a dry microfiber cloth. For the glass, a small amount of standard glass cleaner sprayed on the cloth (never directly on the frame) works well.
What's the frame made of?+
Real eucalyptus wood with a hand-rubbed mahogany finish and a hand-set gold inner bead. The mat is acid-free navy linen with a gold bevel.
